Why I’m Running

Why I decided to Run for office

I never set out to run for office.

Like many people, I was focused on my family, my work, and my community. But over the last year,I watched residents become increasingly frustrated as they struggled to be heard on issues that directly impacted their lives. Whether it was concerns about development, environmental protection, education funding, healthcare access, or the rising cost of living, I saw people doing everything they could to engage with the process and advocate for their communities. I stepped in to help educate residents, share information, and connect people with resources so they could make informed decisions and participate in local government. Through that work, I saw firsthand how many people felt disconnected from their elected officials and uncertain whether anyone was truly listening. The moment that ultimately led me to run was seeing how residents came together to advocate for Old Killingly Pond and other issues affecting our communities. Those experiences reminded me that government works best when people have a voice and leaders are willing to listen. I’m running because I believe our district deserves a representative who is accessible, informed, and committed to serving everyone, regardless of political affiliation.
